Welcome!
I’m so glad you stumbled upon this quiet corner of the web.
Allow me to play tour guide for a moment, show you where you’ve landed?
A Little History…
I’m just a girl redeemed, ever-grateful to my Anchor, Guide, the Lover-of-My-Soul, my Jesus. He’s spun words into motion in my heart, and this is where I share them. My hope is for this place to reflect His refuge, a safe place of encouragement for you.
My fictional stories and my Simple-Revelations blog posts– they all come down to what He’s done for us:
“He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven.” Psalm 107:29-30.
He’s a stronghold in storms, a refuge in battle, an anchor when life’s waves toss us about… and He gives us these haven-moments right when we need them.
Before I give you the grand tour below, so that you know your “tour guide” just a bit more– here’s a little about me…
The Author of my life gave me a heart full of words. They tumble around in there, changing and moving and learning, until I set them loose with ink on paper and learn some more. Out they pour: sometimes it’s story, sometimes a simple revelation. As I make a home for them here, my hope is to invite you in, sit a bit with you and– yet again– continue to learn as we visit, as we draw near to Jesus together.
Stories spin inside me, set in the early 1900′s deep in the mountains. An unlikely trove of all-things-Gilded-Age, the setting is as much a part of my own life story as it is a part of my characters’. Sometimes these characters emerge from their forest estate long enough to sweep through turn-of-the-century San Francisco, but their home is in the mountains… at a place called Stonehaven. (This series is pre-published and in search of a publishing home. I’d so love your prayers on this writing journey!)
I’m blessed and humbled to be represented by Wendy Lawton of Books and Such Literary Agency, and is a member of ACFW.
…and now for the website tour…
The Architecture
Every structure has its bones, its foundation, the things that shape and ground it. We’re no different. Moments shape us and lessons grow us, and for me these find their way into blog posts. A few of the milestone-posts on this site, and in my life, are…
- Weary Ones: He Sees You, and He’s Weaving
- “I’m Still Here” (or, A Lesson from the Airwaves”)
- Humbled
- Lum
- “Dead” Ends
- Searching the Heart
The Rooms
Because music whirls about me almost as much as words do, of course we have a music room.
Because writing — as it turns out– is not just about setting copious amounts of pretty words down (as I once thought), here’s a little school room, my own writer’s academy. And trust me, I visit many of these sites often as I continue to learn and grow.
Because books have a glorious way of “addling the brain”, a library awaits.
And there’s a study of sorts, where I can dream of imaginary soundtracks to my stories, and scribble blog posts from my heart to yours.
